Professor Ran Balicer

Professor Ran Balicer is a public health physician and researcher, and serves as Founding Director of the Clalit Research Institute, the WHO Collaborating Center on NCDs Research Prevention and Control. He is also the Director of Innovation and Health Policy Planning at Clalit, Israel’s largest healthcare organisation. In these roles, he is responsible for strategic planning and execution of innovative organisation-wide interventions for improving healthcare delivery, reducing disparities, and introducing novel data and AI-driven tools into daily practice at scale. Prof Balicer serves as the Chair of Israel Medical Association’s Society for Quality in Healthcare and a board member of the International Foundation for Integrated Care. He serves as Public Health Professor at the Ben-Gurion University, Israel. His research focuses on the study of extensive clinical databases in care provision and policymaking, as well as in applying and assessing innovative data-driven models of care aimed at NCD care and prevention.
