Ghada Abdel Aal

Ghada Abdel Aal is a blogger, newspaper and magazine columnist, screenwriter and author of the bestselling “Ayza Atgawez” (I Want to Get Married) 2008, “Fodoul Al Quetta” (Curiosity of the Cat) 2016,  and “Maksofet El Raa’ba” (May your Neck Be Broken) 2017. Her first book “Ayza Atgawez” has been translated into five languages: English, French, Italian, German and Dutch, and Abdel Aal’s comedic screenplay adaptation of it won The Golden Pyramid award at the Cairo Arabic Media Festival. She also wrote the screenplay to a second TV series “Embratoryet Meen?” (Whose Empire Is This?) and her third TV series is a Netflix mini-series by the name of “Searching For Ola” which is coming to Netflix streaming service at the end of 2021. Ms. Abdel Aal is a recipient of the 2012 Bauer Prize for promising new writers at Incroci di Civiltà, Venice’s International Literary Festival. She has been teaching creative writing and screenplay writing in different universities and private entities inside and outside of Egypt since 2010.
