Micaela Neumann

Policy and Research Officer


Before joining the Commission as a Policy and Research Officer, Ms Micaela Neumann (@MicaelaNeumann_) worked as Advocacy Manager with the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). In this role, she launched and managed UICC’s ‘Treatment for All’ advocacy initiative, supporting national cancer societies in 20 low- and-middle-income countries to shape meaningful advocacy campaigns calling on governments for equitable access to cancer services, in line with global commitments and country needs. Previously, Ms Neumann consulted at The Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, with additional work experience at Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance and Dimagi South Africa, a mobile health social enterprise. In 2019, Ms Neumann co-launched the podcast Chronicles with four other global youth advocates, which features young people who are living with or affected by chronic diseases. She graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Communication Studies from The University of Texas at Austin and she has a Master in Anthropology and Sociology of Development from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. Her dissertation was entitled, “Network (dis)connections: Mobile health in Africa’s development imaginary.”
